Bio

It’s pronounced “Zed-Zed” Top up here, eh. Northern rock with a southern soul. Toronto-based band, Left on the Dial, takes as much influence from the sounds of the north and mid-west of the 80s and 90s as it does from the deep south and the blues, soul and rock’n roll music it birthed.

Left on the Dial’s thunderous rhythm section comes from Jen on the drums, whose both subtle and deafening drumming is the unmistakable heart and soul of the band’s sound. This is followed by the always in-the-pocket (both on stage and on the dance floor), Dave on bass.

Dave’s bass playing is like watching a surfer casually ride a 75-foot wave. On lead guitar is Josh who creates a unique blend of emotional and cerebral sounds that punch through every song. Always experimenting within the range of clean and distorted, Josh gives his guitar a tone all its own.

And last but certainly not least is Blake who is not only an incredible guitarist but an incendiary vocalist. As the band’s lead singer, Blake’s powerful and soulful voice gives you the unmistakable feeling that you’ve known and heard it all your life, just like the band’s music.

Together, LOTD weaves bluesy and melodic southern-flavoured songs with tones referencing 60s and 70s rock’n roll to 90s fuzzy nastiness and everything in between. Listen and you’ll feel the inspiration of all rock styles, so much so, you’ll never want to move the dial.
